<p>Do you know when the EA and EAII folks are supposed to hear about their need-based financial aid? I never got a straight answer on that and it will be a big factor.</p>

<p>Good news! S received the packet today offering him an $11,500 President's Scholarship. We freaked out a little because the enclosed letter said that the non-refundable $500 deposit was due on Feb. 1 "for Early Admissions candidates". S applied EA II, which still makes him an early admissions candidate in my book, but how in the heck could he send in his deposit by Feb. 1 if he only got the packet today? I knew it had to be a misprint but called anyway to find out. Sure enough, they meant to write "Early Decision candidates". Whew!</p>
