I am hoping someone out there has a firm idea on when the EA notification will come from UMass Amherst. DS is wondering if he will learn about acceptance via his SPIRE account, or does he wait for the school to send the nice, fat envelopes?

If acceptance is updated online, when does that infomation hit the account? Is it a midnight update, during the day, or rolling throughout the alphabet of applicants last names?

He is very anxious as this is his #1 choice!

i had emailed umass amherst last week to ask them a question about my application ID number since i lost it and they told me not to worry because decisions were being mailed out monday (today). however, i ended up finding my letter that had the ID and when i checked my status on their website it said it was still under review. either way, they should be coming out extremely soon. you can continue to check your status online because decisions will be posted there before you receive them in the mail. hope that helps, and good luck =)

that’s what they told me but apparently not because usually decisions go up online before they get sent out in the mail and mine is still not posted online so who knows. now i’m just annoyed! let me know if you hear anything, though. thanks =]

On the UMass Class of 2014 group on facebook, an admissions staff member said that letters started to go out today (12/15), and that you will most likely receive your letter in the mail before it changes online. She also said that they received around 9,000 applications.

Thanks for the info BossFan91 and samjillian. Good luck to all that applied! Hopefully there will soon be a UMass Class of 2014 thread filled with acceptances!

Congratulations to all that have heard good news! Woo-hoo to the excellent scholarships that have been received! Fingers crossed for good news for my son tomorrow! I think he will go crazy if he doesn’t hear tomorrow…

Got my acceptance letter today too!! Accepted into the Isenberg, but not for sports management, which was my first choice.

Nursinghopeful- I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I read somewhere that UMass received around 9000 applications for EA, and they just started sending decisions out on Tuesday. They might have just sent yours a day later or something.
