EA people, did you send resumes?

lishnik21, can you list out your ECs as well?

Re en Kam, your ECs are pretty incredible. Not only have you done well in science but you have a substantial passion in language.

I can definitely start to see the differences between my application and the admittees..

KRabble88 I was going to post them and then got lazy...but I'll do it since you asked :)

SCHOOL and VOLUNTEERING
-Tennis,
-Lenape Tennis Team (I listed these seperately because I play tennis all year round and I feel thats different then just playing on my school team)
-Lenape Swim Team (both varsity sports btw)
-NHS
-EVNAPO Tennis Academy (this is my year round tennis coaches summer camp that I volunteered at..was a councelor and teacher)
-Lenape Math Team

AWARDS
-2 Varsity Tennis Letters
-Varsity Swimming Letter
-All South Jersey Group 4 Doubles
-Outstanding Academic Achievement
-AP Scholar with Honor
-National Merit Letter of Commendation

WORK
-Asst. to Head Technician; Cust. Service Rep at Hi-Fi Service Center (this is my dads electronic reapir store..those titles really do kinda apply and I guess this is good for SEAS)
-Tennis Hitting Partner (for my year round coach as well)
-Physics Tutor

I don't this my ECs are that impressive at all...but I think I made up for it in other areas of my app.

I sent an activity list that included all my ECs, work experience, and awards. It's not much though.
And oh, I was accepted, btw.

lishnik: technically, we're only supposed to take 8 classes a semester and then gym. Last year I had 9 for a semester but no one argued since I could get all of the work done.

I definitely did not send a resume and was never planning and I got in. So there is a point where you can overimpress?

My daughter did not attach a resume, just used in the space on the online app. She was accepted ED.

lishnik21, thanks!

What do you think was the strongest part of your resume? (including things like location, race, etc.--hooks)

i sent an activities sheet also. I got in

KRabble to be honest I don't think there was one single thing that was my strongest point...although I am a white male from NJ to SEAS..not an advantage haha..but I think everything in my app just added up...my ECs werent spectacular but I think they were pretty good...and you can see the primary activity there is tennis. My scores were good...my gpa and rank werent spectacular but not bad...i think my essays were really good and personal...i spent a lot of time on it..and i sent in a supplememntary project that really represented me and made the app personal.

I sent it.. obviously..
I got in. (strangely)

Penn is one of the only schools i visited that didn't insist on not sending resumes. It has a potential to do 2 things: hurt you because you can either not fill it or overfill it like you're all over the place... or help you by giving you the chance to explain activities that need explantaion (ie: how'd you found it, what's it all about, what'd you overcome, etc.) Find the balance. i got into wharton btw

definitely send one, the app said it's okay to send an activity sheet, which is what I did.

ya but did your activity sheet include every club/sport/thing that you did, or just the most important ones?

I didn't send one, and I got in ED

i think its pretty obvious from the varied posts here that it doesnt make or break your app...if oyu think you need it and it will help..send it..but dont make it annoying..if your good with the space they give you then dont send it...you can get in either way
