The first thing that I need you to keep in mind is that UChicago usually has about a 10% acceptance rate for EA. DOn’t let this discourage you though (I was accepted RD, which was about 4.5% acceptance rate). There are two vital objectives that you need to have when applying to U of C. First, demonstrate that you are a well-rounded student. Based on your credentials, you appear to be so. This is good, as your GPA and SAT scores are lower than the campus average; you’ll need the ECs to boost your appeal. Second, you’ll need to stun with the essays, which UChicago considers to be the most important portion of the application. There will be three of them: the quirky one, the generic one, and one asking you to discuss something (usually your favorite novel, painting, etc.) at length. Make sure you put plenty of voice in these essays. Again, they are the MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT!

Overall, I think you have an average chance of making it in (again, 10% ish). It just worries me how low your GPA and SAT scores are.

IMHO I think you have a below average acceptance either in EA or RD. First of all, most biology department admits have scored 5 in Ap bio. Your SAT math score is below par for computer science, which is a part of math department. Not knowing what are the composition of your 3.1 GPA, unless you have all A’s in math part, your chances to be admitted in the math department is low. Your AP score in Spanish and English are not sterling for linguistic major.

Sorry to point out the weaknesses, but that is only my opinion.
BTW the average admits in U of C has SAT 1530

OP, chance threads are always iffy. I really don’t put that much stock in them because there are so many variables. If you really love the school, speak to that. You have unique EC’s and your cultural history is a plus. Let us know how you did. You may also want to post in the Hispanic students thread for support/guidance. Good luck!
