I'm still waiting for the full tuition scholarship in the mail. But I should probably give up on that now, especially since I only live a mile away from campus.

I think I just need to hear someone else say "I was accepted EA and live in the United States and just found out that I got full tuition."

Cami, did you happen to ask the Texas rep if there is anyway to confirm if they sent anything. I am also in Texas with service from the wonderous rural postal service so as of now three things could have happened, I got nothing (most probable), lost in post, or it is delayed the typical period of 3-12 days ....

My D was accepted EA and received her financial aid package today. No mention of merit aid. A call to admissions revealed that all merit aid offers (both EA and RD) were mailed last Tuesday. Puzzling that no EA's have posted anywhere on CC indicating receipt of merit aid.

well I got national merit too, but that's expected if you are a finalist and list as top choice... I don't think any early admits got any other scholarships though--like the 9000 one... I bet they count on ppl liking the school if they applied early and so dont bother to attempt to lure them with merit based awards

Yeah .... I think I'm still clinging on to the hope that the full tuition scholarships were mailed out later than the other merit scholarships. Which really isn't plausible.

yeah...if you sent in that little card to National Merit listing uofc as your 1st choice you SHOULD receive money( I got $1000). You should be getting a packet in the mail this week (I got it today and I live in chicago) about scholarships and all that jazz!

I got my fin aid packet today, and uggh...48,000 dollars?! that's more than northwestern! figures my first choice school is the most expensive in the midwest, if not america!

I was admitted early and got my financial aid letter today. I don't think I have $48,000 lying around anywhere... hmmm... no. If I got any merit money, it would say so on the financial aid letter, right?

The scholarship notices are included in the acceptance packet. Since they are merit and not based on financial need, it doesn't make sense to include them with the aid packet (since kids who get the scholarships may not have applied for aid).

Tune: Oh, OK. The scholarships were all sent out last Tuesday, the blog says.

Brooke: Yes, it is. They are based on merit--not financial need. All you had to do was make sure that box was checked on your appication saying that you want to be considered.
