I was accepted EA but haven't received ANYTHING about financial aid. And it's not because I don't need it! Has anyone heard? I'd kind of like to know whether Chicago would be financially feasible before I shell out 400 bucks to fly up for the April overnight :)

In February at the Sewanee merit weekend I heard a girl boasting about how she had gotten a full ride merit scholarship, but I think she was BS'ing to dare the Sewanee people into giving her more (UChicago doesn't even give merit aid, does it? I thought it was just need-based).

Chicago does give merit aid - some $10,000 scholarships and some full rides.
I think us EA admits are supposed to hear around the same time as RD people - a week or two after decisions went out - which means this week? next week? Maybe?
I’ve pretty much ruled out UofC based on the estimate of financial aid. I expect it to increase a little, but don’t know by how much, so I’m struggling with the overnight thing too.

According to their website, Chicago informs all scholarship winners by April–or with RD decisions. So, you can be confident that she was simply, as you put it, BS’ing.
