Earlham College Admitted Students: Prospective Class of 2019

D received a standard form letter about filing the FAFSA, dated Feb. 10th, in which they said this was a record year for applications. I think that is interesting since the application deadline is today. I wonder if at that point they had already exceeded prior year application numbers in whole or if it was just a record for a particular point in time.

Is anyone else going to the fly - in thing in early March?

I am a Bonner too and unfortunately it was changed to only accommodate US citizens.

Anyone know when the RD letters are due for earlham
and @evelynne1996‌ what are your stats seems like we have a few common colleges on our list

The date on the website states April 1. However, I had a question for the Admission’s Counselor assigned for my daughter, and learned that they try to get back to students as soon as they can and that it depended a lot on receiving the Fall transcript. And it turned out that Earlham had not received my daughter’s despite her request for it to be sent a month earlier. So I had that transcript sent that day and my daughter heard (acceptance!) a week later. My point is…I recommend that you make sure that Admissions has your Fall semester transcript!

@FlaviusMaximus‌ How interesting! You can see my stats here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/miami-university-ohio/1747896-honors-selectivity.html#latest. Please feel free to send me a message, I’d love to get to know you better!
And by the way, Earlham has raised my FA package, but I’ll still have to pay 15k. Any international student got offered more?

@MomofM‌ I do not mean what you mean by Fall Transcripts(bear with me, since I am an into many of the concepts of american education system are still alien to me  ).

I am pretty sure that my counsellor had filled in the expected scores for my year end leaving examinations (India - ISC)
and if you mean the scores of the last fall idk. Btw we do not have semesters here we just study the same thing all year in parts (2 terms)

@FlaviusMaximus‌, If you got separate grades for your first term, those would be equivalent to the fall transcript discussed – basically anything that your school can provide to show that you are continuing to work and progress as expected. Since you’re not clear what’s been given or required, you’ve got an excellent opportunity to reach out to admissions to make sue they have everything they need – and to maybe kickstart the process a bit!

Best of luck to you!

@evelynne1996‌
Earlham increased your aid? Did they message you the conditional admission basis and later increased your aid? I got offered the conditional admission but they didn’t increase my aid. Also, my stats are not as good as yours which must be the reason. So, I don’t think I will be able to afford Earlham. Would be ecstatic if Earlham had increased my FA. By the way, I am an international student as well.

@hope1097‌ Yes, they did and my family were able to raise our EFC to 11k/year, and a few weeks later Earlham got back to me with the updated financial aid package. I know how you feel because I really like Earlham too but 15k/year is impossible, not to mention we’re also responsible for the tuition increase in the upcoming years.

Update : (To all those interested ), I contacted admissions and they said my application was complete and that they would get back on the 1st of April with the admission decision.

@evelynne1996‌ I get you. I increased my EFC but Earlham didn’t change their offer and stood firm with their decisions. I don’t know what else to do. I am on the same boat as you. So what are you doing now?

@hope1097 did you apply ED ??

@FlaviusMaximus‌ No, I applied early action.

Hey Everyone, I got my decision today. I’m an international student. I received the Presidential Scholarship which is $20000, got 2000 in work study and 22000 in financial aid. It’s still expensive for my family, but it’s a great offer!

@smilyowl‌ when did you submit your application and was it RD or EA or ED

@FlaviusMaximus‌ I applied RD and I submitted my application a couple of days after the deadline, but I explained for the admission office why I submitted it late.

Thats weird and kinda but I reckon that I submitted before you and haven’t heard back :cold_sweat:

PS I submitted a few days before deadline

Is there anyone who has not heard back yet? I am an Internatinal applicant from Romania. Another student from my school that applied here receieved the decision about 2 weeks ago while I had not received anything yet. I am really starting to worry  PS: I sent my application about 10 days before the deadline

@geoart‌ I feel like they start to read the applications from the last to first, but don’t worry. I don’t think the time has to do anything with the decision. @FlaviusMaximus‌ It’s impossible to figure out what they’re doing. I hope you’ve heard back until now!
