Anyone go to scholars day? What did you think of Clark?

scholars day is this upcoming Saturday so, nothing to report yet :-)

Strassler Arts Competition Day

Hm?

I'm going this Sat. to the Presidential Scholar's Day. :) Anyone else?

So,when will we get information about financial aid and such? :| My letter was small, and I want my big package of info.

I was at Presidential Scholars day yesterday and I was incredibly impressed by Clark!! I thought the learning modules were fascinating and that the school would really take care of its students. Since I'm from Bronx, NY, the odea that Clark is in a bad neighborhood seems really silly to me. If there are other presidential scholars on this site, could you give me some feedback about how you feel about choosing a brand name university over Clark. I'm not so sure that I would want to after yesterday.

Yep! Wrote my review in a separate thread, ethnobot.

About choosing a 'brand name uni.' over Clark, it would depend on what you would view as a 'brand name uni.' I personally really liked the professors and the atmosphere. I feel that I would grow a lot there. Would I choose a well-known name over that? No.

But Clark is still not my first choice. I liked it, and I wouldn't have any qualms about going, but it didn't bump itself onto the top of my list.

Why are you so unsure now? Didn't you say you were impressed?

When I said "I wasn't sure," I was refering to my previous desire to choose a brand name school over Clark, not my decision about going to Clark. Sorry. My wiritng was pretty unclear!

i went to the presidential scholars day and it was totally not what i had expected. my interview felt more like a q&a session with a professor, but my questions had been covered in the talks with current presidential scholars. the prof didnt even know my admission status-- i had to tell the interviewer that i had been accepted and was up there for the presidential scholarship interview. i barely said 2 words about myself: nothing about my extracurriculars or family or interests or anything. all the conversation focused on clark. i feel almost like maybe they messed up and set me up with the wrong interviewer or something, because other kids enjoyed "talking all about themselves," as they put it, in their interviews. did anyone else get this weird treatment?

My interview was really strange as well. I didn't even get much of a chance to ask questions b/c all my interviewer wanted to do was talk about herself and the current research she was doing (and this took over an hour)! I really loved Clark otherwise and was extremely impressed by everything else I experienced on PS Day.

That's really weird. Did you guys do an alumni interview?

If not, I suggest you do if your interviews went like that. I didn't have one on PS Day because I had one with an alumni a week beforehand. It was a GREAT interview, imo. I brought her my resume, we sat down at a cafe, she bought me a smoothie :), I talked about my stuff and I asked her tons of questions about Clark. She jotted down notes and we exchanged email addresses, and have exchanged emails since then.

hi guys!

I'm an intl from Bulgaria and have been accepted to Clark's Global Scholars Program. Does somebody have impressions of it?
