I just got an e-mail saying that I got accepted to Clark, and I'm also eligible for the Traina Scholarship! But I still have to do the scholarship interview....Do all people who are eligible for the Traina scholarship AND do the interview win the scholarship?

I received the same e-mail 2 weeks ago. But the interview might be really difficult since $18,000 for four years is not a small amount. Have they notified you regarding the time of the interview etc.?

I just got back from the presidential scholar's day and I think what the admission's officer told us today goes the same for you too!
(If you fulfill the requirements, you get the money)

I think a lot of people were confused about the situation and when he told us everyone clapped and cheered.

We were there too today and that is not exactly what was explained when we asked for more detail..

If you got the letter and attended President's Day and completed your interview then you have the scholarship. If you did not attend then it is NOT guaranteed.

I don't get it. I only got a letter concerning the Traina Scholarship. I didn't get anything about Presidential Scholarships.

What is there to be confused about? The Trainia scholarship is different than the Presidential. You get one or the other, not both.

oh...I was initially confused because the website says that "a small amount of Presidential scholars are eligible for the Traina Scholarship", so I assumed that people who were eligible for the Traina Scholarship were already eligible for a Presidential Scholarship.

I think if you did not get the Traina scholarship you would then be considered for Presidential. Of course you have to have the interview and/or go to Traina day this Saturday to get either.

If things played out as they did last year: at the opening session we were told that everyone in the auidence who was invited would get the Presidential's scholarship. I believe the speaker directed us to read a statement on the back of the program confirming that. Then, after the interview, some successful students would get "bumped up" to the Triana Scholarship level which as I recall was a few thousand dollars more per year and some research money down the line.

Duuude Traina Scholars day was AWESOME! Everyone who came was already guaranteed $60,000 + $3,000 research stipend even if we didn't get the Traina Scholarship. My interview went well--I was interviewed by a biology professor who showed me some laboratories and a mouse colony!

When does Clark notify the Traina finalists?

If the interviewing professor says he will recommend you, do you usually qualify?

Daughter was told by the professor last year she would be recommended, and she was, FWIW.

MarathonGirl just received a letter today that she's been offered one of the "Making a Difference" scholarships. The drill was fairly similar to the Presidential-level scholarships, supplementary materials and then another on-campus interview. She's thrilled, but still waiting to hear from other schools.

FWIW, the scholarship letter said "you will be receiving your official acceptance letter later this month," so it looks like still at least a few more days of waiting for RD letters.

i got my official acceptance letter yesterday with the presidential scholarship and i live in MA, so the rest of you should be hearing back very soon. best of luck to all!

Uh, I haven't heard from them yet. What the hell, hopefully tomorrow.

Got my acceptance letter today. They gave me like no money.

Accepted today with $10,000 Merit.

When will the International Students be notified about their decision? Anyone has any idea?
