Early Action at Rutgers?

Should I apply for early action at Rutgers with my 3.3 gpa?
or should I wait until after the first semester of my senior year to improve my grades? Does my senior year even calculate into my gpa?

Advice from Rutgers students and alumni would be great.

First, this isn't really going to answer your question but Rutgers has rolling admissions that starts accepting people in October (I believe) so you could potentially know if you were accepted before the deadline for EA! If you choose to take advantage of the rolling admissions policy remember that the earlier you apply the better your chance of getting accepted. Second, if you apply EA they will (well..should) recieve a copy of your first semester grades that will be taken into account. Even then, they don't just see that you have a 3.3 gpa, they'll see your whole transcript. More than just your gpa will be considered. Third (on another side note), make sure you take a tour of the campus. If you do so you'll get a code in the mail for a free application which is always nice.

I'm not a Rutgers student persay, I'm a senior in high school but I have 12 credits there from summer courses.

I am going to be a junior this year at Rutgers school of engineering. So maybe this will be of some help. First of all are you in-state? (admission standards are a bit higher for out of state) How was your grade trend did it go up year to year? Did any of your parents go to Rutgers? I can give you your chances if you answers these question and give me your sat breakdown. I will give you some general tips for now. The Rutgers Application is Available Mid September/Early October. Rutgers is Rolling admissions, so when I applied, I checked everyday to see when it first became available. The quicker you get your app out the better your chances and it gets you a quicker decision(I got mine out September 15, and got a decision October 20th), waiting for your senior grades, really is not that important. Colleges really only evaluate your first three years no matter when you apply. Make sure that you take the personal statement seriously, you probably are no shoe-in, so take advantage of every opportunity you get. I took the old sat's got a 1250 710M 540V, and was admitted to the school of engineering which has higher admission standards than the School of Arts and Sciences. My Gpa was a 3.4, and both my parents are rutgers alumni. Alot of this may be more than you need. But the key is be prepared for the app before it is available. The personal statment is the same every year, so work on it this summer, then fill out the app the day it is available, paste your statment, send in your transcirpts and wait for a decision, these are you best chances of being admitted, they worked for me.
