Early Action Decision

If my daughter applies early action - when she gets her decision in December will it include whether or not she is accepted into the honors program and any merit money they will give her?

yes to both and good luck to your daughter!

I wondered about this too. My son is a National Merit Semifinalist and won’t find out until February if he’s a Finalist. So if my son applies EA, Northeastern will notify us of his merit award before that decision comes out?

I don’t know how that would work since my son applied RD and was awarded the full tuition scholarship at that time.

I don’t know if they are guaranteeing that award this year or making it competitive. There was some talk last year it was going to be competitive but it ended up being guaranteed so you may want to call them and check-they were always very helpful when I talked to them.

Have your son notify them that he is a national merit semifinalist now with the appropriate documentation, the woman in charge of those scholarships will note it.

Whatever merit offer you would receive without National Merit standing will be what you get in the early action decision.

Assuming your son becomes a finalist, he will receive an updated offer once he submits that documentation in the spring.

My son received notification that he had been awarded the NEU National Merit Finalist Scholarship in March (after we sent NEU a copy of his finalist certificate).

He had already been accepted EA.

Good luck to all!
