I applied early action in September to Tulane and was deferred on the decision date. Do I need to send my mid-year grades? It says nowhere whether it is optional or not. My senior year grades aren’t terrible, but AP English is kicking my butt and I currently have a C. I think it would do more harm than good to send my grades.
Also, I know it says I will received a decision before April 1st, but can anyone give me a more specific time range? Will it be in February? Early march? I live in PA, so I don’t want to book a flight to visit and then not get in. Have any deferred applicants already heard back?
My stats:
GPA: 3.5 (1 AP class, 3 Honors)
ACT: 32
Participated in many clubs and activities during high school
2 jobs throughout high school - started working sophomore year
Spent the summer in Ghana
Did an exchange program - lived in Denmark, hosted a Danish student

Hard to say, but you probably won’t hear until the end of March. April is a very nice time to visit, should you get in. Also, if Tulane wants your first semester transcripts, thy will contact your school.
It is really impossible for me to say what your chances are, and pretty meaningless anyway. I can say that based on the limited information you gave, you certainly aren’t someone that I would say is being unrealistic. I do recommend you stay in touch with your admissions person at Tulane and continue to express interest.
hmw150, deferred meant they wanted to see more about you. Basically, high school will auto send the first semster report to colleges for all seniors that they applied, correct? If not , talk to your teachers and see what else you have and still not put on the table. You can not just sit here and wait. Remember, colleges will not contact deferred students for additional information. Wish you the best!
