Early Action for high school class of '16

My D also applied EA and has not heard. Hopefully soon!

Still waiting.

Has anyone received notification today?

We receive today - our D got in with 24k!

I just got accepted as well with $22K.

S was accepted tonight!

Accepted with 25k! #blessed

Accepted with 22.5 K, wonder how differences in aid determined. D has 3.69 GPA, 33 ACT…

Got in 24k.

It appears that is the highest amount on this forum outside of @summertimesr . Would you mind sharing your “stats”?

@tim322

3.89 GPA UW, 4.37W
6 varisity letters (3 tennis, 3 lacrosse)
Founded club FTA (future teachers of America), editor-in-chief of the literary magazine and news magazine at our school (staff all 4 years), VP medical club, President multicultural club, NHS

Also, congrats to all who were accepted, and good luck to you all!^^

Ha, no surprise you got the full amount. @summertimesr

Thanks! I was so excited when I got the email-- wooster was the college that felt most like home to me out of all the schools I visited
@tim322

accepted with 24K, hoping Wooster comes through with good financial aid on top of that!

@summertimesr “Feels like home” was our experience as well. What other schools did you visit?

Accepted with Deans scholarship!
Confused as to what colleges take into account when dealing with scholarships, as I’ve been awarded high ammount scholarships at every school I’ve been accepted to so far with far below stellar stats- 3.12 UW GPA, 3.48 W with a strong upward curve (sophomore year 2.0, junior year 4.7). My SAT also wasn’t that great with a 2170. Anyone have any insight?

@porcupine98
I visited a BUNCH of small LACs around America. My favorites were, of coarse, Wooster, UofRichmond, and Centre :slight_smile:

Didn’t have such great experiences at Swarthmore and Haverford, but that might just be me

@majesticmarmarr : My sense is that it’s a recruitment device for schools that may be excellent choices academically and socially, but suffer from relatively remote or unglamorous locations and, as a corollary, have reputations that are more regional or local than national, so a harder time getting a diverse group of qualified applicants. The average east or west coast kid might not have Wooster on their radar, but with the lure of merit aid, the equation changes.

Accepted with 24k … 4.042 GPA and 28 (29 super score) ACT

@porcupine98 I don’t know that that is necessarily true - my child has also gotten offers at all of the schools they have applied and been accepted to as well, but many are not remote or “challenged” in any way. Recruitment tool yes, to overcome challenges - eh.
