Early Action: HYS or Georgetown?

I'm in a dilemma over whether to apply early to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, or Georgetown, if at all. In hopes of making an informed decision, I turn to CC to have a few questions answered:

-Out of HYS, which school recruits the most athletes/legacies during EA?

-For Georgetown, does anyone know of the rigor & weight of alumni interviews?

-Does HYS require a mid-year report for EA admissions? At my school final grades wouldn't be out by the time EA decisions would be. Would the colleges ask for a progress report or my most recent grades?

-Is there any advantage at all for non-hooked applicants to apply EA?

Side note: I received an e-mail from Harvard's URM committee (or whatever it's called). I realize that this does not mean that Harvard has an interest in me specifically. But does that mean I qualify as URM?

For Georgetown interview, key is to be prepared to talk about why GU and what you will bring to the school. Interviews are weighted a bit more heavily if you are on the bubble for admission but test scores, GPA and course rigor are most important. So don’t sweat the interview.

Thank you! Anyone’s thoughts on the other questions?

1)Stanford’s athletic recruiting veers greatly from Yale and Harvard. I wouldn’t use their numbers to try to compare the relative # of early admits in each school.

3) EA admissions is based solely on your first 3 years transcript and the list of courses you’re currently taking. No senior class grades are evaluated. (if you’re deferred, then your 1st semester grades are added to your file)

4) the only advantage is the convenience factor. You should NOT choose a school to just to boost your chances. Conventional wisdom for someone who is a relative viable applicant: Use your EA slot for the school you most envision yourself attending if they all were to accept you.

5) Harvard email: are you a URM? Somehow you’re on a mailing list. That doesn’t matter. What matters is are you or aren’t you?. My friend’s surname is somewhat Jewish. He gets mailings all the time for Jewish centered organizations. You’ve not indicated URM status previously so this is NOT a pass to claim URM status with Harvard or any other school.
