Is it possible to apply to 3-4 schools for Early Action?

Yes, so long as none of them is a single-choice early action (SCEA) school or a restricted early action (REA) school.

The only rule:

Can only apply to one school ED (Early Decision) during each academic year.

All else is wide open.

And, yes as stated above, along as not SC-EA.

I generally agree with the above two responses but if you do apply to a restricted EA school read their policies carefully. Some will allow you to apply to public Us EA.

My D is applying one SCEA and 5 EA (all public). Check that even with REA it may allow you to apply other EA for public schools or required for merit scholarship. You should look it up for each school specifically.
