Honors letter in Ohio... no info on scholarships etc!
Still very happy!!

D received Honors College letter today as well. Very cool, but also no info on scholarships.

Got my honors college letter today.... no word on scholarships

Scholarship info in the past came far after admission. In prior rolling admission days, D, who is now a junior, was admitted in October and got her scholarship and Capstone notification in mid to late February.

Departmental scholarships are often awarded AFTER you accept the offer of admission. They have tended to use them to reward those who were truly committed to USC rather than to use them as additional enticement. D actually found out about her departmental scholarship while she was at commencement practice in early May; it was a nice graduation present. :)

Are scholarships ever given to current students with outstanding GPAs?

There are some departmental awards available to current students, even upperclassmen, but they must be applied for.

As eadad stated "There are some departmental awards available to current students, even upperclassmen, but they must be applied for."
My D was able to get a scholarship as a sophomore after recieving no scholarships her freshman year, based I believe on her GPA for the fall semester and part of the spring semester of her freshman year. Being OOS this also gave us a reduced tuition rate on top of the scholarship money, which really made a large difference. I do not believe her scholarship is reoccuring so she will need to reapply again this year.
I believe she told they are applied for in January or early February.

I've been going a little crazy lately and just wanted to get some feedback. I was deferred in December and I am now waiting to hear back from USC's admissions in March. I have all A's and B's in my two quarters with the exception of one C in the first quarter. I just wanted to know if anyone had any opinions on my chances of getting in. Thanks.

margaretmary, maybe they just didn't have all your credentials in time and the deferral has nothing to do with your grades and stats....

I guess that's a possibility. Although, it did say online in my credential check that everything was in and clarified as being sent and received. Thanks for the help though.

can you guys just list some of your stats??

ncstudent, median GPA/median SAT (reading & math) for acceptance from our public school in Massachusetts is 3.021/1140.

Random question from an oos junior thinking about USC, do scholarships like McKissick come with the acceptance letter? That would be the clincher for me.

Notification of acceptance for my daughter came separately from Honors College accepatance, and that notice came separately from scholarship letters.

same here, regular acceptance first, then Honors, then the scholarship letters. But I remember once the Honors College letter came, the other letters followed fairly quickly.

Hopefully the scholarships don't come too late. Can only visit if the price is good and the price will only be good if I get the tuition reduction.

stuck
theres a application response timeline laid out on the undergrad admissions webpage from the admissions director Scott Verzyl.
They have admitted student visit days that are in the spring after all the admissions go out and before the prospective students response deadline,so when your time comes you'll be armed with the proper info if thats the only time you can visit.

that will probably be my only opportunity to visit. I've seen many campuses because my sister went through this process a year ago. I've gone to a few near my state. USC looks like it has a good blend of academics, athletics, social life, and campus beauty. I have a 4.012 GPA Weighted and my projected ACT score is a 29; hopefully this will allow me to get an oos scholarship. Doesn't matter if USC isn't an Ivy league, looks like you have the opportunities there to do what you want. Thanks for all the help

if you decide to apply, shoot for the honors college..its a great program and worth the extra app.

i talked to someone recently about a department scholarship and they said after the deadline they wait a week start a reviewing and then send notifications, the lady said its about a month
