I have always been puzzled on the whole early application deal. Is it really a big deal if you turn it in early or does it just allow you to see there response sooner? I have heard they are a lot more lenient during early application or is that wrong. Any thoughts???

P.S I missed the early application deadline

There are two methods of applying early, early action (EA) and early decision (ED), they varied greatly. With early action it is more to simply know if you have been accepted then to increase your odds. People will often apply early action to their reaches and then if they get in they don’t apply regular decision to safeties assuming they receive the financial aid they desire. Though ED is very different then EA. ED is binding and you can only apply to one school ED. People will apply to one of their reaches ED because the acceptance rates are usually double that of EA.

I am not sure what you mean by lenient. Whatever you mean I think you misunderstand EA/ED, since if anything the most competitive/serious applicants apply early. Hopefully this helps!
