Early Applications Dilemna?

OK so initially, I was planning to apply EA to Yale and ED to Brown PLME (the 8 yr med program), but I just figured out that Yale's EA is Single Choice, which means I can't apply ED to PLME if I apply EA to Yale.

Given that PLME's acceptance rate is somewhere around 3% (and I know it's a long shot for me, trust me) I was kinda hoping that the ED would give me a tiny boost, because god knows I need everything I can get. However, I also really like Yale and would like to apply early. Obviously, I have a better chance of getting in with their much higher (but still really low) admit rate, but then again I could just apply RD and still have a better chance at getting in as compared to PLME ED....sorry if this doesn't make any sense, I'm kinda freaking out right now

Sooo...any thoughts?
Which one should I apply early to? Is EA/ED even that beneficial?

Thanks in advance!

The admit rates are really about the same. Yale’s rate for unhooked applicants is about 3% and PLME doesn’t worry about recruiting athletes.

There’s more to EA than acceptance rates.

Thanks for the input guys

entomom: Yeah, I know it’s a self-selecting group and all, but it also shows interest (which I really do have), right?
Or were you referring to something else?

For schools like Y & B, they don’t care about showing interest since they have so many highly qualified applicants they could fill their fr class several times over.

IMHO, I’d apply to Brown. My friend is in a similar situation and doing that.
