hey applying early to this program, does it help u get admitted or is it any advantage, any response would be nice, thanks.

I applied early to the program (but if I was not accepted to the PLME, I did not want to be considered for Brown University early decision) and was deferred. Someone I met through another interview program was deferred ED by Brown PLME as well. My opinion is that if you check that you do NOT want to be considered for regular Brown ED if you don't get into the PLME, it's a disadvantage, because then Brown knows you're more in it for the combined program instead of the school. Versus somebody who is willing to take Brown with the PLME or not...they probably have a better chance.

I would not bother applying if you don't agree to be bound to Brown without the PLME. EVERYBODY I know that has gotten in ED -- from this year and past has checked the box. Like twinklestar said, I think Brown is really looking for people that like the school itself, and is very reluctant to accept those not willing to come to Brown without the PLME, for ED anyways.

anyone know of any cases when someone checked NO and still got into plme?
also if i check no and get rejected from plme, can i still apply to brown RD later on?

I checked "no" when I applied to PLME ED, and I was accepted. The issue is not whether it will look good or not to the admissions officers, but whether, if you were not accepted to PLME, you would be willing to go to regular Brown undergrad.

ok brown is my top choice of undergrads, but i want to keep my options open for med programs so im gonna check no and apply ED. should i tell brown adcoms how much i really love brown and that i would apply ED for brown undergrad if not for other med progs?
would that help my chances at getting into plme or hurt them?
any sugestions?
thanks

If your essays and stats are good enough guys, brown won't care whether you check the box yes or no. Don't check yes just b/c you think it'll look good and then be bound to brown for 4 years and not even want to go there..let the bee's flutter out of your heart and fly where they may. don't direct them toward the honey, b/c the bee's know where it truly lies..if that made any sense to you, you deserve a pat on the back...
