It is better to be deferred rather than rejected. I agree with you snubba.
If an applicant just applied Williams early decision for the sake of being informed of the decision early and is deferred,he or she will have a chance to apply to more schools under their regular decision. It will be to an added advantage to him or her since if accepted again under the regular program, the applicant will have a large of pool of colleges to decide from. A deferral to such who is not yet decided with be an advantage to him or her.
I hope all of you guys will be accepted. Good luck.

Has anyone received an email with details of how/when to sign in to see results? I thought we would have gotten one by now. I know I am just frozen with fear at this point.

snubba, I haven’t received an email yet either. Is it unusual that they haven’t emailed us about anything yet? Especially since there is no where (that I know of at least) that tells us exactly when we’ll be notified of the admission committee’s decision? I know the website says BY December 15th and someone on here said 8:00 December 15th. But two things: 1. 8:00 where? and 2. How do you know? I know they’ve already made the decision but waiting is definitely the hardest part! If anyone knows any of the answers let me know!
Best of luck to all of you :)

Good luck to you, I really hope you all get accepted!!

well, if none of us have received any information, I do not think we should be concerned. I bet a new tab about decision opens on the website page about the completeness of your application and you just click on it and it shows you. I could be wrong, but hey we’re all smart, we’ll figure it out (after all we are applying to williams…)

Well, my sister applied ED and got into Cornell last year. She received instructions in an email a week in advance. I think Williams will have to send us an email about log in on the 15th. They can’t assume that everyone is reading through the posts on CC and know how to do it. I don’t know if waiting is the hardest part. I think not getting in will be. I have ten RD applications ready to go if Williams says no and I don’t want to go to any of them. Oh and previous years it has been 8:00 EST

snubba- I’ve got a good feeling about you. You’ll get in. :)

From your post to God’s ear, I can only hope. I have two over-achieving sisters who have made it tough on me. Thanks so much for your kind words, win or lose this has been something.

Good luck once more to everyone since the admission decisions will be out in a matter of hours…!

Landmark, do you know something the rest of us don’t know? What do you mean by admissions decisions being released in a matter of hours? Isn’t it tomorrow at 5 p.m.? My daughter hasn’t received any official notice yet about the exact time, but from what everyone has been saying, it appears that the decisions will be released then.

FyreCracker- The rumor going around seems to be 8pm on thursday night, as that was the time the past couple of years. That, however, has yet to be officially confirmed. Best of luck to your daughter.

I only know that the decision will be available tomorrow which is only in 24 hrs time. That is in a few hours time compared to the many months we have been waiting for the 15th December to come. Anyway sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem, Landmark. Since there hasn’t been any official word from Williams, I thought you might have heard something different about when the decisions will be released. Good luck to you and everyone else. Yes, the wait has been long, but before you know it, December 15, 8 p.m. (or whenever) will be here.

Maybe that is when we will hear, OK, I am losing it. Good luck to everyone, it may be a little more that 24 hours until we hear but it seems like all eternity. I wish Williams would at least email us the details as far as time.

I’m sure the decision will come out soon or later, so all we need is patience.
Good luck to everyone!

If last year was any indication, my daughter received an email on 12/14 with instructions on how to login into the peoplesoft account. She logged in on 12/15 at 7:00pm central time and the announcement was posted. It was the most stressful week of our lives but well worth the wait. Good luck to everyone. Its an amazing school…

I received my email. It says the decision will be posted on the 15th, at 8:00 pm, EST.

Got my e-mail, too.
The magic time will be: 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, December 15, 2011
…28 hours and 53 minutes to go…
