If I were to apply ED to PLME, would that have any impact on my chances? If I do, I’m only going to apply with the option that if I don’t get into PLME I won’t be bound to the school. Will that hurt my chances? I was reading through the ED thread and it seemed like almost everyone that selected the PLME/non binding option was deferred or denied. (Could be just because it’s uber selective…) I would apply binding regardless, except Brown is definitely not my first choice school, I’m gonna apply to the BU 8 year med program as well (which I probably have slightly better chances of getting into…) so I don’t want to miss the chance of one of those programs.

I’m thinking I will apply ED to the PLME anyways though, that way if I do get deferred (hopefully not denied…) then I can send in a letter later and let them know how much I really really want to go to Brown, because I do. lol

Meh, it's similar but not exactly. It's a 7 year program, and you just finish up undergrad in 3 years with a little overlap AFAIK... You gotta get three extra rec letters and they gotta be in by DEC 1 so I'm gettin on it right away. haha. I don't think I"ll even bother with Northwesterns HPME... but I figure I'll send the card in anyways...

idk... I haven't found it anywhere. It seems to be a pretty low key program... I just stumble upon it. You still have to take MCATs though, and keep a certain GPA, but idk how high the reqs are on either of those.

Well...I knew about the BU program, but I think the SAT needs to be higher than 2250 and you need 3 sat ii's including writing? Correct me if I'm wrong --I just know I don't qualify cuz I didn't take the writing sat ii and don't plan to...

yeahh i'm applying to ed plme for brown but not binding for just the college cuz brown's not my first choice. aslo, if i dont get into brown which is highly likely considering the acceptance rate, i'm applying also to northwestern's hpme. why did you say you werent really thinking about northwestern? just wondered... but yeahh i dont think i'll get in there just cuz i think they only accept 50 ppl

so anyways, i emailed brown and asked if there were any disadvantages to applying ed for plme and they said no, although i doubt that they would say yes and discourage you from doing so...
