Hi! So I'm new here but I decided to give this a try and ask you about my eligibility to get into Rice. I'm applying early decision and have already turned my application in so I can get an Off-Campus interview. I'm a Caucasian from Iowa as well as a First Generation college student. My family earns about $80,000-90,000 a year.

I've taken one AP class (AP Comp.) but couldn't afford the exam. My school only offers about five AP classes and I'll be taking two more this year. AP Lit and AP Psych.
I'm also taking a couple college courses from the community college in my town. American Government and Statistics. I may also be taking Cultural Anthropology, but there's no guarantee.

My ACT score is 29. And I have a GPA of 3.5. That's because my school doesn't weigh grades so all the Bs I got in AP and Honor classes stayed that way. I'm also top 20% in my school.

I'm wanting to major in Anthropology or Psychology

-I also tutor some friends in English and Psych

My teacher recommendations are good as well as my personal essay/supplement

I know that this is a stretch, but I've been looking at Rice since freshman year. I really like this school and hope to get in, but I understand why I might not be accepted. Thank you so much for your replies. Good Luck.
