@wookie97 still nothing?
Just got an email from Fed Ex saying a package has been shipped to me from hamilton, new york and its 1 pound!! The only reason I got an email though was because India requires you to send in documents for packages to get through customs, so they were emailing about what documents to send in. (they have really strict customs policies) Hopefully its good news!! I’m thinking 1 pound is too heavy to be a rejection though, but we’ll see
I live only an hour away from hamilton, does anyone think my letter could come today?
The waiting for snail mail is torture. I really wish they did email notification.
Parent18 I know!!! Chances of me getting the letter today in California are pretty slim too
No, AP2020, but please let us know after your mail has come today. If you don’t receive it today, I guess none of us will
Just checked mail, but no signs of a Colgate letter. Guess we have to wait until Monday to find out…
I got in! Got the mail earlier today in California. Definitely shocked because I applied EDII, and I got the decision already. Good luck to the rest of you!!
Colgate Prospective Students,
I’m considering applying ED2 to Colgate, but would like to hear from others what they liked about Colgate. Why are you guys applying ED to Colgate, and what aspect did you like most about it?
@Crusader2016, Congrats! That’s so awesome! What are your stats/EC’s, if you don’t mind my asking?
@cawlidge Thank you so much! Honestly, my academic stats were subpar, especially compared to all of you. I have a 3.79UW and 4.04W GPA. My test score (which I thought would kill me) was a 27 ACT (the superscore might have been higher). My extracurriculars and essays were really good though. Hundreds of hours in community service, multiple clubs with a lot of leadership roles, varsity sports, and summer internships (investment banks, real estate, and at a major airport). I am sort of the well rounded kid who is good at a lot of things, but not great at any one thing. I also developed a great connection with the school.
I think I got in because of my essays, over all well roundedness, and my leadership/initiative. Regardless, I’m very surprised because of my test scores. I am so humbled and grateful.
Btw: I hope this didn’t come off as me bragging. I hope you and everyone else on the forum gets good news soon!
@Crusader2016 It does not come off as bragging at all! You should be super proud of yourself. Congrats again. Good luck to everyone who’s hearing back soon.
Congrats Cursader2016! Did it come FedEx? Also, will we be able to tell by the envelope size? Last year they included a calendar. What was included this year? Thanks in advance.
@j2343abc Thanks! It did come by Fedex, and you can definitely tell by the envelope size. The acceptance is not really much of an envelope, it’s more of a small little packet, if that makes any sense. Inside is a folder with your acceptance letter and other various papers, and a Colgate calendar is included too. Good luck, I’m pulling for all of you guys!
Congratulations!
@Crusader2016 congratulations!! I heard from past forums that you get a personalized letter from the dean?? Is that true? Good luck to everyone else waiting!
Hey guys! I’m in CT and I got my acceptance letter yesterday for reference, I have a 3.4 gpa (at a very competitive high school, my grades were weird because I got B’s and B-'s freshman year and early sophomore year but I got A’s since then; I mention this to show that Colgate really does have a holistic review process for the applicants) 4 years of community service, and cross country and track captain (among other ECs , those being the most notable) my sats were 2200- 700 Math 700 Reading 800 Writing
Best of luck to everyone waiting for that envelope!
(and yes, the dean does write a personal letter:)
@zo1620 congrats! Did it come by mail or by fed ex?
@cawlidge fedex
Do all acceptance letters come through FedEx and all deferrals and rejections come through USPS for domestic applicants? I’m in Western CT, in a town on the NY border, and haven’t heard yet.
