Any domestic rejection letters?
I have to agree @Yallie it is disheartening that those of us who have a lingering sense of rejection, that we can’t just move on sooner. Its disappointing on the part of Colgate, but I suppose we will just have to wait a few more days to probably get confirmation of what we already suspect. According to the Office of Admission when I called, if we do not know through the mail by Thursday, we can have our results relayed in an alternate way, through email or over the phone.
Fair to assume that if your Colgate portal doesn’t show a option for a deposit, then you were either deferred or rejected??
Reflects poorly on Colgate that they are willing to put deferred/declined applicants through days of unnecessary stress that would otherwise be spent on perhaps focusing their energy on applying to other colleges. Genuine congratulations to all that were accepted…just disappointed in Colgate’s complete disregard to those not offered admission.
GOOD NEWS! I WAS LOOKING THROUGH LAST YEARS PORTAL AND MANY ACCEPTED STUDENTS’ PORTALS STILL DISPLAYED THE SAME “THANK YOU FOR OUR INTERACTION” MESSAGE THAT WAS INITIALLY DISPLAYED AFTER THEY GOT THEIR ACCEPTANCE LETTERS!!!
Hold in there guys!! Just because the portal doesn’t say that you were accepted yet doesn’t mean that you didn’t get in!
Stay strong
I don’t see that anywhere…

Yes true, but last year the 14th was a Sunday. This year the portals didn’t change until Monday.
We’ll see…
Has anyone heard anything today? I still have not received anything in the mail and my portal still has the original message confirming that the review phase is now complete… etc.
@hounds47 I received my mail already today and my letter still wasn’t there, so I will definitely call admissions and see if they can relay it over the phone or email yet.
Admissions decisions can be given over the phone or through email TOMORROW, if you do not receive mail by then.
Colgate clearly sent out the deferral/decline letters well after the acceptances…in doing so, they put these kids through days of unnecessary anxiety…can’t understand why they would make disappointing news so much worse by creating this situation.
Happy for all of you that were accepted. Colgate is a wonderful school and I wish you all the best. Just received rejection letter in Buffalo, NY. It was postmarked 12/14. The human beings in the Admissions Office should have showed more compassion towards candidates they were not accepting. Sending our letters as an afterthought is ridiculous. We have many things to complete and put in motion with not much time before many schools close for holiday breaks. I hope they treat future candidates with more care and dignity.
Colgate didn’t send out the rejection notices until Monday, but the acceptances were sent out on Friday. It is so unfortunate because there is so little time as mentioned before all these schools break for the holidays. I spoke with another mom whose daughter hasn’t heard either…She said it has been cruel what this past week has been like for her daughter. Not only is she losing sleep, but she has been completely distracted from homework and working on other applications. Every time the Fed-Ex truck pulls up their driveway, she has renewed hope only to receive nothing. There really should have been more respect and compassion shown to those who were declined. Congratulations to all that were accepted and I am happy to know that there are some really happy kids out there…Best of luck
Yes, I certainly lost sleep over this process, not to mention hours waiting for the mail truck, and any semblance of peace of mind. Really disappointed in Colgate, just really inconsiderate of them.
what does the rejection letter/envelope look like?
so no chance of acceptance if we haven’t heard at this point?
My portal has changed but haven’t heard about anything yet.
Rejected, this sucks. Curious as to where other denied students will be applying to now?
Not officially rejected yet, but @buddyj123 I will be applying to Bucknell (EDII?) Colby, Holy Cross, Gettysburg and Mount Holyoke, and will be hearing from Furman University EA this Sunday.
