Early Decision/Early Action Applicants - Class of 2020

I received a likely letter but I go to a public school, not a catholic or jesuit school.

@Fiona1997 you may receive it, but if you don’t, it’s not a bad sign. Many applicants are notified only on December 20th. I know that among Catholic school applicants, and Jesuit schools in particular, several top students are notified earlier, before Thanksgiving. This doesn’t mean that only these students get notified earlier.

@ReminiscingDad I’m from a Catholic school with a GPA of 4.0 and I rank the top 10% of my class. I have tons of services and leadership positions. I play varsity tennis… my SAT sucked… that’s why.

Fiona, my son’s stats are similar, perfect GPA at a Catholic school, great ECs, and ok SAT. He’s in the Honors Program at the school, so rigorous curriculum. No likely letter. Based on what I’ve seen here, I cannot figure out what they’re doing with these letters. I’m just glad he doesn’t know about them.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like the EA applicants on here received a likely letter, not ED ones. Which would make sense, since EA is non binding and students still have the option of getting deferred EA. This is just an observation from what I’ve seen on here though.

@CAMidwestMom Now I’m going to wait until Dec.20. For people who know about the letters and didn’t get them, it sure is a disappointment… I actually want to go to Fordham. I applied for Political Science major at Rose Hill. My SAT Math and Writing are fine. They are above 87% of the test taker’s. My CR is way too low (460) because English is not my first language. I took it again in November, this time my reading is 530, but my score will not be in by Dec.1 - their deadline for the score report.

@Fiona1997 Hope you get good news in a month!! Hopefully sooner!!

My son got his acceptance (Freshman starting this spring 2016) last week.

@CAMidwestMom Thank you! Have a nice Thanksgiving!

I talked to some current Fordham students. A lot of them heard back by December 11-12th. I would assume ED students would hear back on that date. We will have to see.

Reviewing period for Fordham ED/EA students just ended. Hopefully we should be hearing back soon. Please keep others updated if you have heard/received a letter of acceptance!

Applicants are starting to show pics on @fordhamnotes twitter of themselves with their acceptance letters… I think they are starting to come out!

@runswimyoga They said that they won’t mail the letters before 12/20.

@Fiona1997 look on @Fordhamnotes twitter they retweeted someone holding up the OFFICIAL letter! (but on another thread I read someone asked them and they said they released a small amount of ED / EA decisions…)

@runswimyoga “Early Action (EA) and Early Decision (ED) applicants will be notified on or about December 20th. Admission Decisions will be delivered online only. Admitted students will receive additional information by mail after December 20th.” is what the personal portal says. I don’t know maybe the tweets were from last year?

@Fiona1997 I just checked. They’re definitely from this year. There was a response of a small number of applicants received their letter early. The rest just need to wait until December 20th.

What date did they tweet about it @Reader13? Because I’ve seen the email, but not the letter/mail.

@Fiona1997 November 23. They’re all from that day and they’re retweets.

Yeah but I just never saw the letters. There are only people saying that they are accepted. One posted a screenshot of the email. @Reader13

@Fiona1997 Becuase that’s what you get. It’s an email, not a letter. A classmate of mine just had a similar thing on her timeline as throwback thursday day thing. Fordham does acceptances electronically. That’s how I got mine when I was accepted and so did everyone else.
