I applied ED ll to NYU and wanted to quickly confirm that if I get into my alternate campus of choice (NYU Shanghai) I would have the option to attend NYU Shanghai instead of it being obligatory? Thanks!
Yes, if you are accepted to your second (or third) choice school or campus, you do not HAVE to attend. If you applied with CAS NYUNYC as your first choice, Gallatin as your second, and Shanghai as your third, you are only obligated to attend if you’re accepted into CAS!

It will not affect your first choice. On the NYU Admissions blog, NYU Admissions officers wrote that they will only consider you for alternate choices if you are not accepted to your first choice, and if you don’t get into your first choice, they will carefully evaluate your profile to make sure if you fit into any of your other choices.
