I'm sure I read this somewhere before but I just wanted to confirm that UPenn/Wharton allows you to apply Early Action to other schools if you're applying Early Decision to UPenn/Wharton. That's provided the other school allows similar policy as well. So does Penn/Wharton allow you to apply to other schools Early Action?

Thanks

After reading the website, that is also the impression that I am getting. I’d call the admissions office just in case to double-check.

I think you can apply EA, but if you get into Penn ED, you are obligated to matriculate at Penn regardless of your EA results at Yale.

^ Hmm, Yale is SCEA though, so I cannot apply ED anywhere if I apply EA to Yale. but thanks for the help. :D

There is restricted EA and non-restricted EA. Stanford, Yale, and Georgetown all have resricted EA but won’t let you apply to any other school EA or ED. Schools like MIT and Chicago have non-restricted EA and allow you to apply ED and EA to other schools. The ED school usually doesn’t care if you apply EA. If they accept you, you are bound to attend (assuming FA is not an issue).

So you could apply ED to Penn and EA to MIT and Chicago, but you couldn’t apply ED to Penn and EA to Stanford, Yale, or Georgetown. Again, that’s not so much a Penn rule as a Stanford, Yale, and Georgetown rule.

Good luck!

^ Thanks a lot. You bring great news!
