Early Decision Results

Deferred....

I am now a member of the class of 2011. Thank god it is all over.

sorry gio, I know you were hoping to get in.
does that mean you will be reconsidered in the RD round? or waitlist?

I'll be reconsidered for regular.

The letter said taht 120 kids got deferred ED last year and out of those 120, 37 were later granted admission. So I guess I still have a shot...but it sounds like there were a lot of ED kids this year.

congrats to everyone...do any of you know when we'll be getting financial aid info? because that's a pretty important issue for me. meanwhile, we should exchange screen names.

my sn is p0cket c0wboy

The website says on or about December 30th.

how come i didn't get a mybucknell ID and password with my acceptance letter? there are already members of the class of '11 on facebook....

did you guys apply for financial aid? how much did you get ?

yes, i did, and i got $35,300. i got a $20,000 need-based scholarship, a $10,000 dean's scholarship, work study, and a subsidized stafford loan. i'm pretty excited; the fafsa can only help me!

Congratulations jac101689! If you don't mind me asking, what are your stats?

er, not the best. 2120 SAT, top 15% of my class, strong commitments to theatre and community service, and I did a really good job on Bucknell's supplemental application

wat exactly is the dean's scholarship?

Web site says:

Dean’s Scholarships

Up to 125 members of the Class of 2011 will be designated as Dean’s Scholars. Selected by the Committee on Admissions, eligible candidates will rank in the top five percent of their high school class and score at least 1380 on the SAT (or equivalent ACT). These renewable need-based awards are $10,000 per year. A number of students will have these qualifications, but actual awards are competitive, so not all who qualify will be awarded.

ahh ok thanks. are you going to bucknell next year, nylax?

for those of you who got in...what are your stats?
