I know the early decision policy states that if you apply early decision to Mount Holyoke, that you cannot apply early decision anywhere else. Does this mean that you cannot apply early action (non-binding) to other colleges as well, or can you?

Also, if I were to be accepted at Mount Holyoke via early decision and the financial aid package was too low for my family to be able to afford, do I have the right refuse it and not attend (or try to negociate it)?

Thanks!

If applying early decision to a college, you may apply early action to any other college except, I believe, colleges with a single-choice early action (SCEA) policy.

If you apply early decision you can apply non-binding early action to another school. However, you are committed to go to the early decision school if you accepted, subject to receiving sufficient financial aid that will allow you to attend. If the aid in your opinion is not sufficient you can ask for a review and appeal the award. If after appeal it is not increased sufficiently to allow you to attend, you can then withdraw your application without penalty and apply to another school. These ED rules bind all ED schools that offer this application option.

Thanks for the info.
