I applied early decision to NYU, and I submitted my application around midday November 1st (which is the deadline). However, when I check my application status it says I submitted my application November 2nd. I am afraid that because it must have taken some time to send or process from the Common App, it may not have been in by the ED deadline. Are they still most likely looking at my application as Early Decision?
You would be better off calling and asking them.
Probably better to ask them, but if I had to guess…
Well according to their website the deadline is 11;59ET. So assuming you got it in before then (and it sounds like you did), your probably fine. Are you sure the status doesn’t say “Downloaded” or something like that? It may be the date they downloaded your application, not your submit date. Also, I think your Common App should show a submit time (it’s been a couple years, so I’m guessing). Look at what that says. If after looking at these things, none of them gives you reassurance, then contact the school.
Call and check but for many with 11:59 p.m. deadlines, applications filed Nov 1 won’t be downloaded and recorded until someone shows up for work the morning of Nov 2. In fact, as long as you get the application in on Nov 2 before that occurs, it will usually be considered as timely for EA or ED.
^^^^The only way to be 100% certain is to confirm with the school.
Also, when you apply through the Common App, it provides a receipt of when it was sent. Assuming you saved it, you can always send it to the school to prove you submitted on time. Although I don’t think it will be a problem, just call the school to make sure.
