Early Decision

When applying early decision, in terms of merit scholarship; does Syracuse treat early applicants the same as regular decision? In other words, are they more apt to give out less money to those applying early rather than regular? Or is it that no matter what, if your high school record fits their formula for merit based financial aid then you'll get it? I'd be applying to LC Smith, if that makes any sort of difference. Lastly, if October rolls around and SU is still where I feel I should be, is it worth doing early decision?

I think it is worth doing ED only if your stats aren’t up to par with the school at SU you are applying to. It shows more interest and you have a better shot at getting in. I got into Newhouse with a 3.5 and an 1880 on my SAT’s BUT I applied early, participated in their summer college for high school students, wrote awesome essays, had great reccomendations, an awesome interview, and many leadership roles throughout high school. If your stats are good I’d keep my options open unless Syracuse is the only school you can see yourself attending.
