Hello everyone,
I'm 15 and I'm going to an early-entrance-college program in a mediocre university.
This program is for the first two years.
If I want to apply to another college after two years, do I HAVE to apply as transfer?
or,, is it possible to apply as freshman?
I'm asking this since I know that transfer admissions are way harder than just regular ED/RD admission.
and, I'm thinking top LACs like Amherst or Ivy League schools.

I would deeply appreciate your reply.

Will you have COMPLETED HS and then attended college for 2 years, as opposed to attending college for two years as PART of your HS education?

I’m not an expert on this, but many HS students do dual enrollment with a college and are still considered freshmen when they apply to college. However, if you are actually finished with HS and are just entering college early, it sounds to me like you’d be considered a transfer.

Have you asked your GC this question? It’s not a very common situation, so I’d make sure that you know exactly what the ramifications are before doing it. I’d suggest calling some of the universities you’re interested in and ask their admissions people just to be certain as they’re the people who will decide whether you can apply as a freshman or transfer.

hi, I will be completely out of high school for the next two years. As for asking my GC about this, I’m dubious she will even know what early entrance to college is. I’ve emailed a few of the colleges, but have recieved no replies yet.
