Early Fall Start

I'm deciding on whether I should do early fall start. The course that I want to take a has a pretty bad professor running it from what I heard so I am not sure if it's worth the $1500 for 5 credits. Is early fall start worth it?

Plus, I want to enjoy my long summer.

You do know that there’s also the room and board fee on top of that, so it’s about $4000, right?

Is it mandatory to dorm for EFS now? It used to just be an option.

OP: Are you in state, out of state, or an international student? EFS is generally marketed towards OOS/Intl students so that they can settle in, get to know the Seattle area, and as well as make some friends. However, I know a few Seattle/Bellevue area students who did EFS and enjoyed it.

What course are you thinking about? What graduation requirements would it fulfill?

I’m instate so I would be commuting. I was thinking of doing the Introduction to Image Processing and Python course but my sisters said that the prof for The Political Economy of Everything is really good and she said that taking a economics course in college is beneficial.

D took Political Economy of Everything and loved it! She said professor was amazing and it was the perfect way to start off life at UW. S took Numbers & Reason and found that quite interesting as well. Both kids felt that doing EFS was well worth the cost and benefitted their transition to UW tremendously. Both lived in dorms but made lots of friends in their class as well. With a max of 25 students, it’s easy to get to know everyone.
