Early Fall Start

Early Fall Start

Any feedback/recommendation?
Is it useful for freshman?

Thanks.

I’m enrolled in it, I would think that the 5-credits would be useful to me as it speeds up my progression. I’m doing a VLPA course, and a 5-credits VLPA course will satisfy approximately 25% of my graduation GE requirement for VLPA. Being a freshman, and new to Seattle, I can use this 1 month to adapt to the environment, system, and make new friends - all at a very comfortable pace. However, you should factor in the cost of EFS = close to $1500 for that 1 month and doesn’t cover room and board. You’ll have to arrange (and pay additionally) for an accommodation, food and other expenses.

And it lasts till 20 September, which means you’ll have to forsake some of the fun activities/orientations/events during the period of 10th-20th September (depending on your class schedule).

Dawg Daze runs September 20-28 so you wouldn’t actually miss that much. If you can afford it I’d say go for it. I wish transfer students could do it. :(

If you can afford it, then it’s definitely a good experience. I know people that did it, and not only did they have smaller classes than during regular session, but also met a lot of other students (mostly OOS/international students). In addition, the credits you do for EFS count for your total credits during autumn quarter, which means if you take five credits during EFS and 15 during autumn, then 20 credits will be on your quarterly transcript for the first quarter!
