I already submitted the online application last week, and my counselor is going to send the transcript as soon as the teacher rec is ready (about in two weeks, well before the Early Response due date).

I'm taking SAT this October (for a better score - last time I got CR680 M710 W710 = 2100), and I heard the Oct. score is coming out in the late October.

My counselor advises me to send SAT score with the October testing (since it's free), but then will I still get the decision by the first week of November (Nov 7)? U.Mich is one of my top choice schools, and I really want to know the result ASAP.

sending them october should be fine. I think Oct is the last chance if you're ER
there's no need to rush scores by the way. You can contact U mich just to be sure. If you do tell us about their response

generally, the % accepted for ED is slightly higher than regular decision. I think EA follows the same trend
Most people who apply early are well-qualified anyway, so it may be slightly easier, but not much. In fact, admissions counselors will tell you there's no difference in difficulty, but the word on the street is it may be just a tiny bit easier if you go EA

If I plan to take the ACT or SAT in October, will that score arrive in time to complete my application for Early Response?

"Yes. If you have taken the ACT or SAT previously and are taking the test again in October, you must send in your previous scores to complete your application. Once your new test scores from the October exam are received, we will add that information to your application and consider that in the review process. On the day of the test you must indicate that you want your scores sent to the University of Michigan so that we receive them as soon as the score is available."

It says they will "add" the October score to my previous scores and consider in the review process. Then do I need to send the scores right now, and later send the October one to Michigan later?

nice job finding that. so it clearly states that you need to send in your scores NOW, and then designate U Mich as one of youur recipients when you take it in Oct.

you take the test on Oct 6, but you say on the ap that you're taking it then and I think you can either pre-sign up online for the score to be sent to the school of after you get it back send it (or is that too late, im not sure).
