So I want to get earplugs to wear while I sleep. I'm a semi-light sleeper, and this semester is my roommate's turn to try and not wake me up. It doesn't help that I wake up to her alarm in the first place, and this is for around half the week. Does anybody have any earplugs they would recommend? And for those who have experience with this, does wearing earplugs still allow you to wake up to YOUR alarm? I'm afraid of them working so well I fail to wake up to my own alarm, even if it's right beside my head.

Get a pair of Hearos. They’re inexpensive and get the job done. If you’re a really light sleeper, I would recommend the rubber kind (the ones designed for concerts or swimming tend to do a great job)… However, if minor discomfort prevents you from sleeping, there are foam earplugs you can find (probably the same brand too) that are specifically designed for sleeping. If you’re going to use earplugs, I would recommend getting an alarm clock/phone app that shakes your pillow instead of or in addition to emitting noise.
