Hey, i was really interested in doing earth and atmospheric sciences. Although, im currently in engineering now. Is there any way i can combine these? Like, maybe do my graduate studies in earth sciences? If not, whats the closest i can get to doing something related to earth sciences? thanks'

Environmental engineering has a lot do to with the science and engineering of air and water and whatnot... I also liked geotechnical engineering, which is a division of civil engineering departments, typically. They're both more of how humans interact with the earth, but it might be interesting to you. Look through some environmental engineering curricula and ask some students about their experiences.

There are several engineering disciplines -- e.g. geotechnical, environmental, water resource, petroleum, and mining -- which involve earth sciences. Your school may not have petroleum or mining engineering, as these are relatively specialized programs. But most engineering schools have a civil program, and civil programs typically offer courses in geotechnical, environmental, and water resource engineering.

These disciplines also have allied fields in the earth sciences, so you might want to look at your school's geology or earth sciences department as well. For example:

petroleum engineering : petroleum geology
geotechnical engineering : engineering geology
mining engineering : economic geology
water resource engineering : hydrology / hydrogeology
environmental engineering : environmental geology

hahahaha he said cum
