Earthquake in socal!

The mole people are attacking!!! They are bringing countries down one by one!!! First Haiti, then Chili, now Mexico.

For a moment I thought I was just getting dizzy. Then I realized it was an earthquake. But I only felt it for 2~3 seconds.

@ thiscouldbeheaven umm on crenshaw and olympic - like 3 miles from the grove.

Yeah, I got a little dizzy ._.

Hahahah facebook statuses are hilarious now. Everyone’s being uber overdramatic about it.

[Earthquakes rattle Pacific Coast - CNN.com](<a href=“Two killed, 100 injured in Mexican earthquake - CNN.com”>Two killed, 100 injured in Mexican earthquake - CNN.com)

It doesn’t seem that there was too much damage, so that’s appeasing.

Anyone else from the area? :O

it’s been upgraded to 7.2

Oh, that’s a long way from where I am. More like midcity.

Anyone know how far away this is from Tijuana? I’m trying to get ahold of my cousin, but no luck :frowning: (it is very unusual for her not to answer her phone.)

^ Tijuana is about 2 hours south of LA, and pretty close to where the epicenter was.

The article stated that it occurred about 110 miles east of Tijuana.

^ Ok. Can you please give me the earthquake for dummies version and explain what 110 miles east means in earthquake terms :o? (Hehe not from earthquake country so I have no idea what that means… I feel dumb.)

I felt it. It was pretty scary because it rolled the ground almost up and down. I had never felt one like that before!!

^^Your cousin probably felt it but she should be ok.

This is from the article:

100 miles… Probably not significant damage, if it was a structurally sound building

Phone lines there are probably clogged at the moment.

Thanks so much Warts :).

Ah, TCBH… didn’t think of that :o

I want to kill whoever invented the emergency alert system on TV/radio right now.

What ?

There wasn’t that much damage from the earthquake.

Yes, when it happened I was sitting in the sofa in the living room, and my mom was sitting in the other sofa next to me. Out of nowhere she starts panicking and starts saying “earthquake earthquake” but actually I didn’t feel anything at all…

This earthquake was nothing compared to the one that happened around 3 weeks ago, now that one woke me up panicking in fear lol!
