Im going into the engineering school this year, but I think I have decided that business is what I really want to do. Will I have an advantage coming from the engineering school because engineering is full of quant oriented students? I realize that there is more to it as well but will it help?
I don’t think you will have any real advantage coming from engineering. The math at Ross is pretty easy.
I do not think it is not easier. It may in fact be harder because Engineering courses (even prerequisites) are graded more harshly.
It depends on the class you take. It may be harder to get a good GPA in CoE.
Absolutely no advantage. Ross looks at certain courses (english, calc, econ, etc). Engineering will not help.
Sorry
However, if you take intermediate Mathematics classes (116 and 215) and excel at them, it is definitely a plus.
I think you would be best suited doing really cool things that you can write about in your application, rather than focusing on some possible advantage you think rigorous courses will give you in the admissions process.
