I am new and I wondered if anyone knows about the BA/MD programs for schools with the highest admittance rate for high school students. Do they often require SATIIs and many recommendations? Is it as hard to get into as getting into Harvard or other Ivy league schools? How much does college weight GPA?
Thanks!! :)

I hate when people ask questions like these.

Sorry, but I really need to know this. I apologize if my comparison with Ivy league school irritates you, but what I meant is the acceptance rate (approximately 10% for most Ivies except Cornell). Also, I need this because I don't know about what stats it takes to get into a BA/MD program, and if It is worth for me to try to get into.

BA/MD programs are the same selectivity as Ivies. You need stats that would get you into Ivies.

^That's not true. There are programs that are significantly easier to get into compared to the Ivy League.

Er, maybe for some of them, but for most of them, you need to be qualified enough to apply to the Ivy League.

which programs exactly?

do you mean Leigh?

Sophie Davis is my fav cuz its closest to me. But then again, its EXTREMELY selective like the many others.

I'm from upstate new york from a good high school but with not so great a science program....i wonder if some schools give preference to kids in science-oriented schools?

thanks =)

well since i got an interview for USC ba/md i have to think that USC is slightly easier if youre not so stat concentrated because i feel that USC looks more at the overall person (your activities etc) in comparison with your stats.

after that it goes soley into how you do on your interview (i failed in this area here), so i think if you have a strong personality, alot of confidence, present yourself well, it would be a good shot

um...no you dont need to be as qualified for the BS/MD programs as you do for the Ivies....the main focus is your science standardized test scores. If you can get a 780 in chem, bio, physics, and math IIC, along with a 2100+ and 3.5 or better, I would say you have a pretty good shot. Lets not forget a few extracurriculars and some hospital or clinic volunteering experience.

hey...im new here. I REALLY BADLY wanna go to BU bs/md progrma but don't know if i cna make it or not.. can someone please tell me.. here are my stats (im only a sophmore though so...)

GPA: 3.85/4.0
APs: AP World History, next year- Biology, Physology ( i think i spelled that wrong), Calc AB, English Lang.
ec: rED cROSS, Hospital volunteering, Kumon tutor, Historian of French Honor Society, Science CLub, Science Olympiad, Math Honor Society.
next year - English Honor Society, Hstory HS, NHS, Debate, Model UN, and something else.
GEMS internship program, leadership instituton.... i think thats all

can somebody please tell me I m desperate

Hey... is nobody using this thing anymore?

Do you think I have a shot at Boston Univeristy or VCU at least? I mean i am from virginia....

Oh yea... if or got to add that Ive been dancing for 7 years and have performed at some prestigious palces and I have also been singing ( Inidan stuff though)

Coolio,

It depends on your SAT I and II scores.
If you score well in SATs (I would say = or >2200) and > 780 in SAT IIs, you have a good chance.

Slu........

saint louis university's program is relatively ez to get in

coolio, yer stats are almost exactly like mine...

3.85 gpa, 7 yrs of dance, science olympiad, 2230 SAT (1550 M+V), etc etc

and..........i didn't get an interview...but that was because there was someone else in my school who applied who had better stats than i did...i THINK that bu will take like the "best" applicant from a school, but im not too sure

USF has one that is pretty easy to get into.

2 girls got in from my school to the BU program...but it is phillips academy andover (top 10 highschools in the world?)

Bigal40
can you elaborae about USF ez get in.
what is ba/md anyway?
