I am an aspiring architect but want to apply to a few Ivies as a second option. Columbia, Brown, UPenn don't offer undergrad accredited Architecture programs so which school / major should I apply to which will help me get throuh the admissions? Any suggestions would be extremely valuable. Thanks :)

Well, Columbia doesn’t have an architecture school but it does have an architecture major. Unless you’re very interested in the actual engineering side of architecture, just apply to the Columbia College and go from there.

Thanks for the response. But do you think it’ll be a disadvantage since a lot my ECs is architecture related. Wont I come across unfocussed ?

I don’t know what you mean by unfocused…I’d say it is pretty focused to concentrate on one area (like architecture) in most of your extracurrics. I can’t tell you for sure but I don’t think that that would hurt you. If you really are in love with architecture though I don’t know if I’d just apply to Ivies without strong programs as “a second option.” I believe Columbia has a good program (and I know a good postbac/grad architecture program) but it will definitely lack a lot of the resources that, for example, an art/design school might have.

You’re right. I was just concerned if applying for Liberal Arts, and having architecture as a major factor in my application. Won’t it be a little out of tune? I am in love with architecture definitely but my parents want me to keep a back up. Something other than architecture. I love mathematics so I guess that’ll be my major.
But anyway thanks a lot ! Quiet helpful.
