I was just admitted to the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, NC, and I was wondering if you had any thoughts or knowledge of the teachers there:

Gideon Rubin

Diane Walsh (Mannes)

William Wolfram

At this point, hoping to study with Diane Walsh (former student of Richard Goode, among others), but who know how things will turn out teacher assignment wise, so I'd like to be in the know about all of them, if possible.

I'm excited by this acceptance - I read that most years, less than a third of the 21 pianists accepted are high school students. It's a little disappointing that two major faculty members are on leave for this year's festival (Yoshikazu Nagai at SF Conservatory and James Giles at Northwestern), but I'm very happy to have been accepted, whether I go or not. Whether I go to Brevard or Eastern, I will have a percussionist friend or two to keep me company, so I'm not terribly worried by being emotionally wrecked by either place.

Does anyone here know anything about the festival that they would like to share? I have to decide this week, basically, so time is of the essence!

In addition, I still would love to hear opinions and experiences pertaining to Brevard Music Center in North Carolina or Adamant Music School in Vermont. Getting down to the wire here!
