Eastman Lois Rogers Scholarship???

Anyone know anything about the Lois Rogers Scholarship? Other than a mention on Eastman's website, I couldn't find anything about it. What is the criteria, etc. From what I know, they give out around 5 per year to incomming freshmen, $30,000/yr, and talent/academic based.

How about the Howard Hansen Scholarship? I know nothing about that one.

Financial Aid - Current Undergraduate Students at Eastman

I don't anything about the Rogers but I do know that most admitted students receive some scholarship money from the Howard Hanson fund. When my son attended he said he didn't know anyone who didn't receive some sort of merit award.

I had the same problem finding info on the Rogers scholarships. Agree with shennie that most students who receive merit scholarship money are Hanson scholars, meaning the money comes from that fund. Don't know for sure, but it seems as if everyone who is accepted gets something.

Can only tell you that Howard Hanson was director of the Eastman School for 40 years and contributed so much to the music life here in Rochester. It is because of his care and devotion that the school is regarded as one of the finest conservatories in the world.

Re: what shennie said, we were told that every student admitted to Eastman gets a merit scholarship. They didn't specify the fund name.

The only other thing I found on the Rogers scholarships was that Rogers scholars get to move into the dorm a day before everyone else.

I believe there are only 2 Rogers Scholars per year. They receive $30,000 plus a book scholarship each year. Also receive a packet of concert tickets. And they are allowed to move into the dorms a day early which is actually a nice perk.
