easy to transfer schools

do you guys know any good schools that are easy to transfer into? for example, USC is significantly much easier to get into if you are a transfer student and not applying as a freshman. I am looking for schools that are around USC's caliber

What is 'easy,' though? High acceptance rate?

Take a look at the CollegeBoard's website; for every school you search, there's a section which tells you how many transfer students applied and how many were admitted. Not every school has data for these spaces, but it's probably worth looking into.

Good luck.

Easy is in interesting term...

I'm going to use UCLA since it's the best example I have of the situation. Starting in the 8th grade out in my community, they decide to start plugging the local CC. One of the things they tell you is that if you go there for two years, you can leave and get right into UCLA. They make it seem like it is a rather easy process, and that basically as long as you pass all your class UCLA is going to open their doors for you.

Let's fast forward to the current time. I've been at that CC for 2 years now and am currently waiting to hear if I got into UCLA. I have learned that it is not as easy as they once had lead me to believe. While it is easier then Freshmen admisisons, especially since you don't have to worry about the SAT, it's still not a walk in the park. I've got a 3.9 at my CC right now and I'm still worried about getting in. I've been told my UCLA counslers that basically, if the applicant has a GPA under a 3.5 then they're chances of getting in are exceptionally slim.

I'm assuming USC is similer. Yes it is likely easier to transfer into USC then it is to enter as a freshmen. However I can pretty much assure you that it is not a walk in the park either.

"I've been told my UCLA counslers that basically, if the applicant has a GPA under a 3.5 then they're chances of getting in are exceptionally slim."

That's strange:

The average GPA of transfer applicants who are admitted to UCLA is 3.50

university of california, los angles

UCLA isn't an easy transfer. The ease of transferring depends on a variety of factors. Not many schools of USC caliber can be deemed as easy transfer schools. Easy schools would be state schools like Cal State.

UNC-chapel hill....caliber of USC and easier than frosh admissions. i guess it'd be out of state for you?

UCLA freshman: 24%
UCLA transfer: 38.7%

By pure numbers, yes, it's easier to get into UCLA as a transfer than a freshman. HOWEVER. UCLA has a very big agreement with some CCs in addition to the general CC-to-UC IGETC (etc.) agreement which means that there's a certain group with a much higher chance of admission than the average applicant.

USC freshman: 27%
USC transfer: 30.4%

UVA freshman: 39%
UVA transfer: 40.5%

UNC-CH freshman: 36%
UNC-CH transfer: 50.6%

All numbers from collegeboard.com

Keep in mind that these are fluctuating numbers and I don't even know what year they're from. Colleges are under NO requirements to allow the same number of transfers into their classes unlike they do with freshman, though they often stay pretty close.

From what I understand being part of TAP will greatly increase you chances for admisison.

"HOWEVER. UCLA has a very big agreement with some CCs in addition to the general CC-to-UC IGETC (etc.) agreement which means that there's a certain group with a much higher chance of admission than the average applicant."

In addition, UCLA accepts more students from California community colleges. The acceptence rates from those are like 43%, and other California students and out of staters have lower admissions rates.
