EC help: Too many writing/journalism clubs?

I'm a rising junior. Next year I'll be the editor for lit mag and my newspaper and fingers crossed if I suck up enough and stand out, I'll be yearbook editor.

Right now I have the chance to run for the Asst Editor of the English section of a Chinese community newspaper. Should I go for it?

Pros: Looks great on college since it's a newspaper circulated all through Jersey, can work completely from home
Cons: Takes 2-3 hrs per week (not sure if I can manage it with my courseload and other ECs), already in many writing clubs

Intended major: Undecided

Thanks for your help.

it shows you’re passionate. no biggie.

If you want to do it… do it.

If you like those things, go for it. If there’s something else you’d prefer to do, do that instead.

Most colleges don’t consider ECs in admission anyway. In general, it’s only the places like HPY that have such an overabundance of high stat applicants that the colleges can pick and choose from among those to select those who’ll best contribute to creating an active, diverse class.
