Hello all , so I will be attending UCLA in the fall. My ultimate career goal is to be a veterinarian. UCLA doesn’t have any animal sciences so I narrowed my 2 best major choices to ecology or just general bio. I know ecology is a popular major amongst pre-vet students but it seems off and I’m confused as to whether I should keep it. I have the option of changing it at orientation and I was considering just biology but IDK as you can tell I’m lost… any advice would be great thank you!
Pick a major you think you can excel in ie. Getting very good grades and can also serve as a backup in case you change your mind or do not get in Vet school.
Neither major has very good career prospects with just a Bachelor’s degree other than going on to graduate school so if there is another area of interest besides these 2 majors but can still fulfill the Vet school requirements, I would look into that area of study.
This looks like the best fit to me. The stated focus is “vertebrate” physiology, not just human.
