They say "recommended" on the site.

Has anyone who was successful in this class have any advice on buying the books?

I had a PDF of it (sure I still have it somewhere) but I don’t know if it’s still the same book. The class is almost entirely computational problems, no proofs and very little actual theory, so the book really isn’t necessary. There are some additional problems in the book you could use for practice but between the homeworks (2 a week) and the practice tests (I think for every exam we got 5 or 6 practice tests), you should probably have enough. The book is probably only useful if you want to learn more than just what you’ll be tested on.

nice, thanks

also, do they post notes online?

The lecture slides? Yeah.

Would you say it’s harder than econ 101/102?

You don’t need the book for this class. Trust me.

Don’t waste your money on the book. I just took the class and never touched the book at all.

I didn’t take them, but probably.
