Econ and Business Schools for Strong GPA

I'm looking for schools with a strong economics or business program. i have a 1300 SAT and ranked 1 out of 1100 (shared with 8), good recs/essays, and have the highest GPA possible at my strong public school. I'm looking for matches, reaches, and safeties, some with alot of financial aid and scholarships available. i plan on applying to the following

Penn State Schreyer Honors
Wake Forest
University of Maryland
Villanova

It doesn't matter what type of school, big, liberal arts, but I'd like location to be around the northeast and upper south (farthest NC).
Any suggestions??

Take Maryland. In my opinion, it has the strongest business/ economics program of the bunch; however, all the schools have a different feel. You may want to check out each school's atmosphere. Personally, I did see Wake Forrest and didn't like it. It has a bad reputation for not being very open minded, especially regarding minorities. Villanova is a nice smaller school than Maryland but has some religous overtones and doesn't have the same amount of offereings as that of Maryland or Penn State.

Penn State is a good, fun school. However, it doesn't have the strong business repuation of that of Maryland. However, even with that, I think Penn State is a good school.

Penn State is ranked higher in US News than Maryland and just opened a whole new business facility, how can it not have the rep like maryland?

Penn is great too - Econ in the College of Arts & Sciences or Business in Wharton. Can't go wrong with that.

And it can't hurt to apply :)

NUCLEI - take a gander at Washington & Lee - in VA - very stong program for a LAC - Williams School.
