Econ and Poli Sci

Hey all,

I'd like to ask how conservative or liberal is Wellesley's econ department? Is it anything like UChicago's conservative econ department embedded in a liberal campus (as almost all are)? what about its poli sci department?

Thanks,

I am a senior econ major, so I think I have a pretty good idea–the professors try to keep their opinions at least somewhat to themselves, but I would say it is NOT a very conservative department. The sentiments I hear expressed off the cuff in class and my knowledge of my professors’ research indicate that they are pretty liberal. You can peruse the faculty profiles and papers here: [Wellesley College — Faculty & Staff](http://web.wellesley.edu/web/Acad/Economics/facstaff.psml)

I am less familiar with the politics of the polisci department so I’ll let someone else speak to that.

Indeed, you’re in quite an ‘advantageous’ position to speak =]
Really appreciated, thanks!

anyone willing to speak for poli sci, or add more to econ?
