Econ at Vassar

Hi everyone:

I am very anxious to hear decision from Vassar next week because Vassar is such an amazing school and is one of my top choices! I plan to major in Economics in college and was wondering how the econ program is at Vassar. Does Vassar have connections to cities such as NYU? Do students have plenty internship/job shadowing opportunities? How is pre-business advising at Vassar? What have recent econ majors done with their degrees?

Thank you!

With all due respect, wouldn’t you have been better served had you asked your questions before you applied?
If I informed you the econ dept. and related advising are horrendous after you accepted admission and submitted your deposit, then what?
In truth, the econ dept. and advising are excellent, so relax. Good luck with your admission decision(s)

The survey has a less than optimal response percentage, but it will give you some idea where econ graduates are employed, etc. http://economics.vassar.edu/docs/misc-files/Survey-of-Graduates.pdf

@CrewDad‌ I went for Vassar as a whole when I applied there and I wasn’t 100% sure that I am going major in Econ. Anyway, thanks for the information. It’s really helpful and I love Vassar even more now!!!

Go to LinkedIn. Type in a college. Click on alumni. Click on New York and click on finance. That will give you idea. Vassar looks better that I expected. You have a network waiting for you. Go get 'em!
